Path, Stroke & Vector Structure Issues
Should cut files use strokes or outlined paths?
Both methods work as long as the file contains:
- Single, clean cut lines
- No duplicate paths
- No open or broken shapes
Outlined paths are generally preferred for broader compatibility across software and cutters.
Too many anchor points causing rough cuts
Excessive anchor points can slow down cutting and cause jagged or uneven edges.
Fix:
- Simplify paths
- Remove unnecessary anchor points
- Use smooth curves
Cleaner paths produce smoother cuts and faster output.
Open paths or broken shapes causing incomplete cuts
Unjoined nodes leave gaps that prevent complete cuts.
Always join and close all paths before exporting the file.
Vinyl cutting twice or tearing edges
This usually happens due to duplicate or overlapping paths.
Remove duplicate paths so each cut line is processed only once.
